This dataset represents the official digital floodplain boundaries designated under Section 301 (Floodplain Designation) of the Comox Valley Regional District Floodplain Bylaw No. 890.<\/SPAN><\/P>

Where multiple mapping sources exist, the spatial extents reflect the priority rules established in Section 301 of the bylaw.<\/SPAN><\/P>

Floodplain designation includes mapped flood extents as well as areas below Flood Construction Levels (FCL) and areas within prescribed setbacks. FCL and setback areas are maintained as separate rule-based datasets for operational purposes but form part of the overall floodplain designation.<\/SPAN><\/P>
